Clark Professor of Philosophy
Shelly Kagan is the Clark Professor of Philosophy at Yale. Professor Kagan’s research interests lie in moral philosophy and normative ethics. Much of his work focuses on the nature of well-being, moral desert, utopia, and debate between moral theories. Professor Kagan is a popular lecturer at Yale, known for his introductory lectures on Death and Ethics. Death, a book based on this course, has been a national bestseller in South Korea. Professor Kagan received his B.A. from Wesleyan University and Ph.D. from Princeton.
